The Malibu version of the Chevy Company was launched in the United States by the GM. Its name is based on the name of Malibu California. It is sold in the states of USA, Canada, and Israel. The current version of the car is featured with confined size in opposite to its competitors, in order to keep it relatively smaller than the bigger Impala version. Both versions will develop in coming days establishing for the Malibu the self contained competitor of the Chevy brand for versions like the Toyota Camry, and Honda Accord.
The name of this version was transferred to the new Epsilon platform for the year 2004, but the existing car remained in manufacturing as the Chevy Classic for car lease and fade out usage that was put to an end in the year 2006. The Epsilon-based Malibu is available in 2 body styles, a standard four door sedan and a four door Maxx station wan. It was the Chevy’s first station wan since the cessation of the Caprice wan in the year 1996.
This generation of the Malibu primarily made its first appearance with a front broad surface style along with a spacious grille split horizontally by a conspicuous chromium bar that went with the whole width of the vehicle that was designed with a prospect to make it somewhat like Chevy’s trucks. However, for the year 2006, the front portion was upgraded with traditional designing; the chromium bar was taken off, and the grille itself was composed relatively smaller in size, holding a similarity to the grille on the previous Malibu. The Malibu will be redesigned and reutilized for the year 2008. It will be constructed on an amended version of the larger-wheelbase Epsilon platform resembling with the Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura. The Malibu will offer more space than the earlier versions, with a restructured inside cabin and more strong engines. The official website of the Chevy motors displays a Malibu gallery from where you can download Malibu pictures, Malibu photos, Malibu wallpapers, and Malibu videos as well as can read Malibu reviews.
As shown in the Car and Driver, Mialbu of the year 2008 Malibu will feature a 164 horsepower, 2.4 L inline-four as the base engine, and a 252 horsepower, 3.6 L engine V6 as an option. Like the current version, the 2008 Malibu will be available in LS, LTZ, and LT trim levels; however the four-cylinder engine will now be suitable on the LTZ, and on that trim level it will be linked with a 6-speed transmission. The V6 versions will be available with a 6-speed automatic; however the four-cylinder LS and LT versions will still employ a 4-speed automatic. There is no sign that a manual transmission will be available. When the new Malibu comes, Chevy will no longer display the Maxx station wan. According to the reports, the German Motors is working on a composite variant for the year 2009. Moreover the Malibu parts and Malibu accessories are on their way to introduce innovations.
While it’s not essentially attractive to look at a non-SS model, the Malibu Maxx performance of the current version is more than adequate. If you are in search of a powerful, spacious and fully loaded new or used middle sized sedan not having frills, then this version of the Chevy Company is definitely for you.
